Chicky loves looking at books in his crib during nap time. Today I was startled to find him fast asleep with an open book on his face. Apparently he did not want to put the book down even while sleep was taking over! After taking the pic. I removed the book and he didn't even stir....

O.K. So I am not a huge fan of making a breakfast that contains a lot of sugar but, on rainy, cool fall mornings this baked oatmeal is a real treat! We serve it in a bowl and pour fresh milk over it. The boys love it!

INGREDIENTS
• 4 cups milk
• 1/2 cup packed brown sugar
• 2 teaspoons butter or margarine
• 1/2 teaspoon salt
• 1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon
• 2 cups old-fashioned oats
• 2 cups chopped, peeled apples
• 1 cup chopped walnuts
• 1 cup raisins
• 1 cup wheat germ

DIRECTIONS
1. In a saucepan, heat milk, brown sugar, butter, salt and cinnamon. Add remaining ingredients; mix gently. Spoon into a greased 2-qt. casserole. Cover and bake at 350 degrees F for 45 minutes. Serve and pour milk over it if desired!
I have been ill for the past four days with a terribly nasty cold. Thankfully hubby took over and I have been able to rest. Tylenol and cough drops, how would I ever survive this without you?! My hangout for the past four day......(yes, sweets are part of the recovery process :o))

When Peachy is practicing the piano Chicky always grabs a chair and sits next to him to "practice" too . Peachy is quite patient with all this and says he does not mind since the high notes that Chicky practices on are not very loud. Thank goodness for patient older brothers!

Peachy and Jay are close and love each other very much. Today Peachy was not feeling well (fever and stuffy nose) so Jay quickly got to work next to the bed where Peachy lay.

After much cutting he presented Peachy with a bookmark in the shape of a heart and other such paper presents.

He also made Peachy a funny paper hat to wear in bed.

He simply stated, when asked, that he made the presents so his brother could feel better.
Oh to have the heart of a child....
Chicky loves to sit with an old workbook and pencil to "do lessons" like a big boy. It is quite endearing to watch.

Turn off video games and the like and watch the creative juices start to flow. I am so thankful for the 'No computer Mon-Fri rule' .
